INTRODUCTION TO LET IT RIDE
Let it Ride is a variation on the standard 5 card poker game. This game is played against the dealer instead of playing against other players and is a relatively popular casino game. The game is most commonly played by older casino players or by those that are completely new to the game. The game is a slow paced game and is fun to play by all players, it is important to note that this game gives players some of the worst odds that the casino can offer, that being said it is still a great game to get your feet wet and 5Casinos recommends this game at low limits for beginners.
HOW TO PLAY LET IT RIDE
The game is played using a standard 52 card deck and players are each dealt three cards face down that they can look at once all players have cards. There are then two community cards dealt as well. The community cards can be used by everyone at the table to make the best possible 5 card poker hand that you can make. This is a table game and each player has three betting spots in front of them marked with 1,2 and $. The player must put a bet of the same amount in each circle in order for the game to begin, the minimum bet at most casino usually starts with $5 in each circle.
However, it is important to know that you are only really playing with your 3rd bet and the other two bets can be rescued later in the game. The three cards that you are dealt must stay on the table and you cannot show your cards to the other players that are playing. The player then looks at their three cards and decides if it is possible for them to make a hand, if they don’t believe so they will pull back a bet. Then the dealer will show one of the two dealer cards and the player makes another decision to either leave a bet or pull back one of the remaining two bets. Then the dealer turns up the last of the two cards and the players cards are turned face up, the winning hands are paid and the losing hands are collects.

LET IT RIDE STRATEGY
The goal of the game, is to at a minimum have a pair of 10’s or better between your cards and the community cards. Since you don’t have an exchange of cards you must make a decision of whether you should let it ride or play out the entire game. You should always pull back the first bet if you don’t have the following (or unless you have a great feeling that you have to trust):
- Any paying hand
- Any 3 cards to a royal flush
- Any 3 suited connectors where the lowest card is a 3 or above
- 3 to a straight flush, spread 4, with at least one card that’s higher than 10
- 3 to a straight flush, spread 5, with at least 2 cards 10 or higher.
Additionally you should pull back bet 2 unless you have:
- Any paying hand
- Any 4 to a flush
- Any 4 to an outside straight
- Any 4 to an inside straight, if 4 cards are 10 or higher
If you follow these guide-lines the casino’s advantage is around 3.5%. You must, of course, understand all the hand rankings, which are the same as in poker.
